Nine area residents have been federally indicted in U.S. District Court in a 42-count indictment for previous drug trafficking. The indictment includes charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, an amount of cocaine and marijuana, along with illegal firearms charges according to Bobby Christine, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.
Remanded to custody of the U.S. Marshals Service were James Graham, aka “JT Money” of Jamesville, GA; James Gibbs, aka "Big Lope", of Baxley; Sandrell Hobbs, of Douglas; Deandra Graham, aka "Bird” of McRae; Montoya Eady, aka “Mon” of McRae; Robert Livingston, Angela Livingston and Willie Batten, all of Jacksonville, GA; and Darrell Veal, of Helena. Sandrell Hobbs is currently a fugitive with an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
The charges carry a possible penalty of up to life in prison, and there is no parole in the federal system. The case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces operation, and is being investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Appling County Sheriff's Office, the Telfair County Sheriff's Office, the McRae Police Department, and the Douglas Police Department.
