If you are in arrears because of an inability to pay your water and sewer bill in the City of Vidalia and don't catch up on what you owe, be prepared to be disconnected.
Vidalia City Manager Nick Overstreet said that the City hasn't cutoff any customers' service since February because of COVID-related hardships, but starting today, that is about to change. Overstreet said no customers have been cutoff since February, but it's time now to get back to business.
The City Manager said in a "typical" month, around 150 city residents cannot/don't pay their bills, but since February, that number of customers to be disconnected is about 475. He added that cutoff usually happen when a customer is about two months behind on their bills, so this time frame has been a much longer period.
