Mrs. Linda Nell Phillips, age 72 beloved wife of the late Ivey Troy Phillips of the Oglethorpe Community of Soperton passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, November 12, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.

Born in Treutlen County she was one of five children born to the late Edgar Lee and Beatrice Ely Henry.  She was a graduate of Soperton High School and in 1967 married Treutlen County native Ivey Troy Phillips.  Mrs. Phillips had worked at the Soperton Shirt Factory and Oxford Manufacturing in Vidalia before working most recently at I-16 Outdoor and Supply and Lovett’s Hardware in Rincon.  More than working for career advancement she worked for and was successful as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She and her husband had been longtime members at Morningside Baptist Church

Mrs. Phillips enjoyed cooking and time spent caring for and spoiling her grandchildren.

Her husband of 53 years, Ivey Troy Phillips preceded her in death by six days.  She is also preceded in death by two brothers Edward Reed and Ronnie Henry.

Mrs. Phillips leaves behind her children, Joseph Phillips (Dianna), Russell Springs, KY, Amanda Cox (Jason), Soperton, GA, two sisters, Diane Edge (Don), Soperton, GA, Betty Watson (Marvin), Mt. Vernon, GA, a sister in law, Bobbie Jean Henry, Soperton, GA, four grandchildren, Ashten MacKenzie Phillips, Emma Rae Phillips, Jacob Troy Phillips, Gracie Lynn Cox and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020 from the graveside in Boiling Springs Cemetery with Reverend Louis Pearce and Reverend Vic Fordham officiating; as she is laid to rest beside her husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made in her memory to Morningside Baptist Church, 4327 Holton Chapel Road, Soperton, GA  30457
