September 25--Scorekeepers were kept busy during a high-scoring contest between the Toombs County Lady Bulldogs and the Swainsboro Lady Tigers Thursday where Toombs County Bulldogs prevailed 8-6.
Swainsboro opened up scoring in the first inning when an error scored two runs.
Toombs County Bulldogs pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored three runs. Arlie Gooden tripled on a 0-1 count scoring two runs and Krista Cantwell singled on a 2-1 count scoring one run.
Gooden got the win for Toombs County and she allowed seven hits and four runs over five innings striking out one and walking one. Cantwell threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen and recorded the last six outs to earn the save.
Toombs County racked up eight hits in the game with Amya Bullard and Gooden each having multiple hits.
