The Vidalia Police Department released the numbers for vehicle crashes so far this year in the city. The report says nearly 79 percent of accidents occurred during daylight hours on clear, dry days, and most happened on Friday. More than half of the accidents this year, 52 percent, involved drivers age 16-24 with contributor factors of failure to yield, cell phone use or distracted driving, and following too closely.
In all, so far in 2020, Vidalia Police have responded to 269 total crashes in the Sweet Onion City.
