Mrs. Mary Kadel Thomas Williams, age 89, of Soperton died Saturday night, September 19, 2020 in Treutlen County Health and Rehab after an extended illness.
Mrs. Williams was born in Rockledge, GA and was preceded in death by her parents, Elder John Manning “Toll” Thomas and Aughtie Pearl Stewart Thomas; her husband of sixty-one years, William Owen “Billy” Williams; five brothers and eight sisters.
A graduate of Wilkes High School, Laurens County, she was a retired bookkeeper with the Bank of Soperton. She was a long time co-owner of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, member of First Baptist Church, Soperton, and the Helen Perry Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her children, Pamela and Glenn Powell of Soperton and Thomas and Bonnie Williams of Waycross; grandchildren, Steven and Stacey Powell of Soperton, Ciaira and Matt Lott of Summerville, SC, and Alexxis and Tyler Lee of Alma; great-grandchildren, Logan Powell, Emily Powell, Creston Lott, Sydni Lott, Heath Lee, Ari Lee, and Kashton Lee; brother, Elder Paul and Alma Thomas of Ocilla, and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there will be no traditional visitation or funeral service. There will be a graveside service for immediate family.
