The weekly reports from area school systems regarding COVID-19 figures were released on Friday, and the news is very encouraging.
Hugh Kight, Superintendent of Montgomery County Schools reports the best news in that ZERO teachers and ZERO students are currently positive for the virus. There are no teachers in quarantine while five students are quarantined and one other staff member as of Friday.
Toombs County Superintendent Barry Waller reported Friday that two students are currently positive, and there are 48 students in quarantine. Four school system employees are positive, and eight are in quarantine.
Dr. Garrett Wilcox of Vidalia City Schools says there are a total of five students in that system who have tested positive for COVID-19, and 48 students are in quarantine. Three employees are currently positive for the virus, and four employees are currently in quarantine.
The area public schools release their figures on COVID-19 each Friday.
