Two people have died as the result of an accident Friday morning.

Toombs County Emergency Management Agency Director Lynn Moore says the accident occurred on the curve past Dennis's Sport Shop near the Toombs/Appling County line. According to Moore, two vehicles ran head-on into each other. A female from Coffee County had to extricated from her vehicle and was declared deceased at the scene. The male in the second vehicle was from Lyons and later on Friday succumbed to his injuries.

The names of the deceased have not yet been released pending notification of kin.
