September 9--The Toombs County Lady Bulldogs stole the lead late and defeated The Swainsboro Lady Tigers 7-6 on Tuesday. The game was tied at six with Toombs County batting in the top of the seventh when Arlie Gooden laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.
Toombs County Bulldogs built a six-run lead in the second inning and then held off Swainsboro's charge. Swainsboro scored five runs in the failed comeback.
Swainsboro evened things up at six in the bottom of the sixth inning with a walk, scoring one run.
Krista Cantwell got the win fo Toombs County.She allowed five hits and six runs over five and a third innings, walking one. Gooden threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Gooden recorded the last five outs to earn the save.
