Mr. James A. Adams, age 81, of Uvalda, died Saturday, August 15, 2020, at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Uvalda all of his life. He worked at Hazlehurst Mills for twenty-four years and at Wal-Mart in Hazlehurst for more than ten years. He was a member of the Uvalda Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two children, Keith Adams in 1980 and Kandi Adams Beckum in 2016; parents, Foy Adams and Ruby Tapley Adams; and one brother, Eugene Adams.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Eula Davis Adams; two grandchildren, Brandon Beckum and wife Taylor, and Brittney Beckum; son-in-law, Ricky Beckum, all of Uvalda; two step-grandchildren, Ashley Beckum Conner and husband Clint of Uvalda, and Ivey Beckum and wife Amy of Vidalia; five step-great-grandchildren, Clay, Case, Camden, Cross and Massey-James; one sister-in-law, Claudine Hazlip Adams of Florida; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Davis and wife Marie of Hazlehurst; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
The funeral service will held Tuesday, August 18th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Adrian Bell and Pastor Reece Mincey officiating. Burial will follow in the Dead River Cemetery.
