August 14—The VHS Lady Indians Volleyball team started the season this week with matches against bigger schools to help prepare to face teams in their area. The team went 1-3 with a win over West Laurens and close losses to Appling County, Southeast Bulloch and Wayne County.
“We are so thankful to be playing matches right now when so many teams that are canceling. Even though we have had some losses this week we feel good about where we are and know there are a lot of things we need to do to improve on. We have some key players out now and hope to have them back soon.” Coach Sandra Calloway said. “
“We have definitely seen some positive things with this only being the second season of playing a varsity schedule. There has been a lot of growth and the girls are learning the game better each day.
