Mrs. Mary “Virginia” Jones Hutcheson, age 82 of Meeks passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at her home, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Hutcheson was born in Riddleville, Georgia on September 19, 1937 to the late Willie D. Jones Sr. and Lucile Cofield Jones. Mrs. Hutcheson was a homemaker most of her adult life. She was known for her baking talents; especially her twelve layer caramel cakes and chewies. Mrs. Hutcheson was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church where she was a past Sunday School teacher, Methodist Youth Fellowship leader and Sunday School treasurer. She was also a talented painter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Billy F. Hutcheson, sisters: Mabry J. Griggs, Doris J. Barlow, Carol J. Jackson, brothers: Willie D. “Billy” Jones Jr., James Robert “Bobby” Jones and Joe Franklin Jones (infant).
Mrs. Hutcheson leaves behind her son, David F. Hutcheson (Cindy), of Forsyth, daughter, Dale H. Webb of Meeks, grandchildren, Jennifer Corbin (Randall) of Lawrenceville, Marah Gregory (Josh) of Kathleen, Georgia, Derek Webb and Wesley Webb (Shay) of Meeks, great grandchildren, Ally, Bradley & Mary Kate Gregory and Micah & Titus Webb, sisters, Frances J. Tucker (Jim) of Albermarle, North Carolina, Velma J. Veal of Wrightsville, her sister in law, Anne G. Jones of Riddleville, several nieces and nephews and her special fur baby, Prissy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from the graveside in Corinth United Methodist Church Memorial Cemetery, Meeks, Georgia with Reverend Tommy Veal and her grandson, Reverend Wesley Webb officiating.
Mrs. Hutcheson will be laid to rest beside her husband.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton.
