Four local Sheriff’s Offices working together have solved several burglaries and made arrests of four Toombs Countians in connection with at least three separate crimes.
Toombs County Sheriff Alvie "Junior" Kight reports that along with his office, the Treutlen, Montgomery and Wheeler County Sheriffs’ Offices solved thefts in their own counties as well as those in Toombs County. Each agency had stolen items that were discovered in other jurisdictions involving most of the same suspects.
Arrested were Sonya Marie Diaz, age 46; Dewey Vincent Hester, 45; Charles Edward Grimes, Jr., 33; and Jimmy Adam Sander age 38. All suspects have Lyons residency. Charges against each of the four individuals vary but include burglary, felony theft by receiving, and felony theft by taking.
Sheriff Kight said most of the items stolen during the burglaries have been recovered including 2 side-by-side All-Terrain Vehicles, an equipment trailer, hunting clothes and related equipment, tools, home appliances, jewelry, televisions, audio equipment and a vehicle.
According to Sheriff Kight, an additional case involving the theft of a side-by-side All-Terrain Vehicle and a four-wheeler led to arrests warrants being issued for Justin Eugene King of Cobbtown, and Jeremy Winters of Soperton, who are charged with felonious theft by taking. King and Winters are awaiting extradition from the Treutlen County Jail.
