Mr. David Campbell, age 70, of Lyons, died Monday, July 31, 2020, following an extended illness.  He was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio and lived in Toombs County for over forty years.  He was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School and received a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Shawnee State University.  He served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he began his career as a respiratory therapist at several hospitals including Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia where he served as Director of Respiratory Therapy for over twenty years. He retired from Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton after working in the medical field for over forty-five years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons where he taught Sunday school and attended Sharpe’s Chapel in Lyons for the last several years.  A loving father and grandfather, he was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed volunteering for community, church, and school events with his wife.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Sabrina Culpepper Campbell; daughters, Cari Campbell Crews and husband Dently, and Courtney Campbell Edenfield and husband Tyler, all of Lyons; grandchildren, Camden Crews and Ellie Edenfield of Lyons; sister Penny Campbell Mavridoglou and husband George of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Several other relatives also survive.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 4th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lyons City Cemetery with Pastor Carroll E. Gay officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Lyons City Cemetery from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
