July 28—The start of the 2020 season for the RTCA Crusaders Football team has been pushed back two weeks. The GISA announced last week the delay due to significant amount of crossover games with the GHSA and the use of multi-sport athletes and concern for academics and final exams. The Crusaders will start the regular season on September 4th at Pinewood Christian Academy.
“Our August is still going to be the same as far as practices and scrimmages. We are going to have a padded practice on August 21st against Briarwood Academy and then on August 28th our scrimmage game will be at home against Trinity of Dublin.” Coach Jacob Lord said.
“We are going to use the delay as a positive for our team. This way we get back the time that we lost in June. We have a completely new staff and we are putting in a new offense and defense. The extra two weeks will give us time to work on things and be prepared for our opening game on September 4th at Pinewood.” Lord stated.
