July 22-- Mr. Lee Williamson, Jr., age 92, of Lyons, died Monday, July 20, 2020, at Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness.  He was a native Lyons, living there most of his life, and he was a 1944 graduate of Lyons High School.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan and South Korea and was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.  Following his military service, he began his career in commercial transportation with A&T Gas Company, Trailways, Greyhound and C&H Bus Lines until his retirement.  He was a member of Lyons Masonic Lodge #49 for sixty years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons and attended Fairview Baptist Church in Lyons for several years.  Among his many interests, he enjoyed yard work and tinkering with old cars.  He especially loved his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Williamson and Mary Branch Williamson; and a great-grandson, Austin Lane McLendon.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of seventy years, Velma Kight Williamson; two daughters, Gail Pierce and husband Robert, and Lisa Smith and husband Dale, all of Lyons; one foster daughter, Sue Cooper of Hahira; one brother, Winton Williamson and wife Margie of Lyons; grandchildren, Leslie McLendon and husband Donald, and Zade Bailey and wife Mary Ann, of Lyons; Dequera Bell and husband Robert of Glenwood, Katelyn Toole and husband Eli of Ocklawaha, Florida, Stephen Cooper and wife Elizabeth of Hahira; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Alyssa, Abby, Kaleb, Luke, Calleigh, Grant, Ella, Paisley, Rebekah, Jane and a great-grandson to be born in December; one niece, Donna Spikes and one nephew, Shane Williamson.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Russell officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Roger Branch officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
