With the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year approaching, we know that you have questions about how and when the reopening of our schools will take place. The system's Leadership Team has been working diligently to craft a plan that will be released Wednesday. This plan will provide for the best possible education for the students upon their return along with the safety of the students and staff.

The Vidalia City Schools System's Plan for Reopening Schools will focus on making safety our number one priority. This plan will be an evolving document in the beginning and will almost certainly grow and change as we learn more about this illness and receive guidance that is being made available to us.

We do not pretend to have all of the answers, and we will rely on those knowledgeable of pandemic diseases. We also realize that many of you have anxiety and worry about returning your most valuable resource to school; therefore, we will also be offering a "virtual learning" option, which will also be outlined in the plan.

We encourage you to know that your children are the most valuable resource to The Vidalia School System, and with the joint effort of those involved, we will achieve a great and successful school year.
