June 12—The Vidalia High School Lady Indians Softball team got back to work Monday of this week with conditioning with guidelines set by the GHSA due to COVID-19.
“It was a really good feeling waking up Monday knowing we were going to be able to come together again as a group. The players are so resilient and it is great to be able to work with them. We have twenty-eight kids and since we can only have groups of twenty we broke them down into two groups maroon and gold. The maroon group comes in on Monday and Wednesday and gold on Tuesday and Thursday. We spend about two-hours each day with some conditioning and weight training. We still can’t use balls and bats so we have to come up with creative ways to keep them engaged. The girls were hungry to get going as much as the coaches so it has been good.” Head Coach Brad Thompson said.
