Ms. Treasure Dennis Wasdin, age 79, of Vidalia, died Friday, June 5, 2020, at Coliseum Medical Center, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Vidalia, later living in McRae, Dublin, and Macon.  Following graduation from Vidalia High School, she attended Georgia Southern University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  She later received her Master’s degree, and numerous Specialist degrees including Business, Library Science, and Special Education.  She dedicated her life to education primarily in the field of Special Education retiring from the Vidalia City School System after over four decades of teaching.  She then worked for over ten years at Wheeler Correctional Facility as a teacher, mental health counselor and vice-principal.  She relocated to Albany in 2018 and joined Forrester Community Church. 

She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 50 years; and she was an active member singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday school to her beloved Pairs and Spares class. In addition to her devotion to her church, she enjoyed the beach, reading, and spending time with her family.  Although unable to play in her senior years, she was a member of her high school basketball team and always said that basketball was her first love. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas Dennis and Merle Spivey Dennis; and brother, James Elton Dennis.

Ms. Wasdin is survived by three children, Christopher Hugh Batchelor of Brunswick, Angela Batchelor Flood and husband Jimmy of Albany, and Jennifer Wasdin Impeduglia and husband John of Athens; three grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Batchelor, Kimberly Batchelor Lewis and husband DJ, and Jonathan Gabriel Batchelor; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Reverend Ronnie McKenzie and Reverend Randy McDuffie officiating.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Forrester Community Church, P.O. Box 71148, Albany, GA 31708.
