June 4—A member of the Vidalia Heritage Lady Eagles Softball team Noel Smith has signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play softball for the Lady Barons at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon. Noel is the first athlete from VHA to receive a scholarship in athletics.
“I am so thankful for this great opportunity. I have a history of family that went to Brewton-Parker. I want to thank all of my coaches and Mr. McCormick and everybody at VHA that have been so supportive. I know I have a lot to learn and I am looking forward to it.” Smith said.
BPC Head Coach Madison Herrin, “Just watching Noel’s work ethic it is second to none. With Vidalia Heritage starting a team she has been a leader and really helped the younger girls on the team. We are excited to have another local talented athlete to join the Lady Barons and she is going to help bring a fresh new look to our program both spiritually and athletically.”
“Noel is a very extraordinary kid and I think she is going to help put a really good name out there for Vidalia Heritage Academy. I am super proud of her.” VHA Lady Eagles Coach Lyndsay Herrin said.
Ronnie Smith said, “We are just thankful to the Lord for this opportunity for her to be able to play at VHA and being home schooled and for her to go and get a good education and play at BPC. I love to watch my kids play ball”
“We love Dr. Echols the president at BPC and are excited about her going there. I couldn’t have chosen a better school for her to attend and God worked it all out. She is a very hard worker and I know she is going to do the same at BPC. Noel is a huge blessing and I am so excited for her.” Delana Smith said.
