June 1--Vidalia High School Indian Anthony Walker has signed his letter of intent for a scholarship to play baseball for the Brewton-Parker Barons in Mt Vernon.

" I am very religious and I know that Brewton-Parker is a christian based school and they have a good baseball program and It is close to home I am thankful that I am getting this chance to further my education and baseball career. I want to thank my coaches, family and friends for all of their support. I want to study to be an athletic trainer one day." Walker said.

"Anthony is just a high character kid and if I was a college coach he is the type of kid that I would want in my program. He is reliable and dependable and was a great leader for our young guys.He sets the example and shows up everyday and works hard. This is going to be a great opportunity for him." VHS Head Coach Brent Korn.

"I am very proud of Anthony. He has been playing baseball since he was six years old and wants to play for the Atlanta Braves one day. He is very dedicated always the first one there and the last one to leave. I think he will be an asset to the Brewton-Parker family." Shequilla Barney said.
