Mrs. Lois R. Chambers, age 85, of Lyons, died Thursday, May 28, 2020, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Glenwood and lived most of her life in Montgomery County. She was a graduate of Swainsboro Technical School and was a licensed practical nurse. She nursed at The Oaks Bethany for twenty-five years and was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Chambers; her parents, Loyal G. Reynolds, Sr. and Della Mae Nelson Reynolds; four brothers, L.G. Reynolds, Jr., Mayo Reynolds, Talmadge Eugene Reynolds and J.W. Reynolds; and three sisters, Thelma McFarland, Karen Lee, and Betty Posey.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by four children, Steve Spivey and wife Vicki of Vidalia, Tommy G. Spivey, Mark Spivey, both of Higgston, and Regina L. Powell and husband Louie of Vidalia; one sister-in-law, Maureen Reynolds of Mt. Vernon; two brothers-in-law, Jackson Posey and wife Nita of Mt. Vernon, and David Lee of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, May 30th, at 11:00 a.m. in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend John Daughtry officiating.
