May 22— This week at Vidalia High School Spencer Ruff signed his letter of intent for a scholarship to play basketball for the Barons of Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon. Ruff was a four year team member and a two year varsity letter winner for the Indians.

“My parents went to school at BPC and my dad played basketball there and I feel like we have family ties there. It is close to home and it is perfect for me. I want to thank my family, coaches and everybody that has supported me.” Ruff said.

“Spencer has been the epitome and ultimate teammate during his career at VHS and was able to play in back to back region championship games. He has been his best leading and understanding his role within the team. His leadership has been evident in the locker room and on the court. Spencer is a high character kid that represents everything you want in a student-athlete. He carries a 3.8 GPA and has served as a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Key Club and SGA.” VHS Head Coach Tommy Dalley said.

Mack and Kim Ruff, “We are very proud of Spencer and glad he is going to Brewton-Parker. It is very sentimental that he is going there because I went there and his dad played basketball there. We praise God for the opportunity.”5 21 20 VHS Ruff
