April 20--  Mr. Thurman Salter of Soperton died Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Treutlen Health & Rehab in Soperton.

Mr. Salter, 93, was the son of the late Lester & Reba Nunn Salter.  He was born in Treutlen County and was a lifelong resident.  He was a graduate of Soperton High School, owner of C & S Electric and a member of Johnson Chapel Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Blanche Johnson Salter; brother, A G Salter and two sisters, Verle McGowan & Jean Salter.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Tim) Pickett; Sharon Salter and Marcie Salter; three sons, James (Janice) Salter, Raymond (Kay) Salter and Gerald (Lash) Salter, all of Adrian; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother, Lonnie Salter of Cedar Crossing; sister, Mary West of Savannah and several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Salter will be laid to rest beside his wife, Blanche Salter, Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 11 AM in a private service at Johnson Chapel Holiness Church Cemetery.  His son, Reverend James Salter will officiate.

The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to the residents and staff of Treutlen Health & Rehab and the Treutlen Living Center for their love and assistance during Mr. Salter’s time in the facilities.

Higgs Funeral Home of Soperton has charge of arrangements.
