April 14—The Vidalia Lady Indians Softball team will have a new bullpen for the pitchers to use this upcoming season. Head Coach Brad Thompson headed up a project with the help of some other coaches to build the bullpen from old parts of other equipment.
“While we had some time off we had a vision to utilize a piece of our facility that we haven’t been using an old batting cage on the third base side of our dugout where we built the new hitting facility. We took that down and built a new batting cage at the middle-school and we took some of the frame from our existing cage at the high school and moved there to help save costs. We had a concrete slab with green Astroturf on it and we turned it into a bullpen. We wanted to reward our pitchers with for all of their hard work that they do.”Coach Brad Thompson said.
“I want to thank Coach Ben Beck, Robbie Sharpton, Bobby Blount and Hugh Smith for all of their help with the project. It is just another way to show “Indian Pride” and we are proud of it and I imagine most colleges would be proud to have the facility that we have to play high school softball on.” Thompson stated
