Mayor Willis NeSmith Jr. under an abundance of caution, announces the following:
Effective Immediately, all recreation activities are suspended till April 13, 2020. Further schedule changes and updates will be sent to the public as information becomes available.
While the City will continue with daily operations, we must also realize the effect the coronavirus can have on our citizens, visitors, and our staff. As of April 6, 2020, Lyons City Hall and Lyons Police Department will close the visitor's lobby to the public. Both Offices will operate under amended operating hours of 10 am to 3 pm. During these hours, contact both Lyons City Hall and Lyons Police Department via phone. If your business with the City requires an in-person visit, please contact that office during the amended business hours by telephone and schedule an appointment. The Recreation Office, Public Works Office, Lyons Welcome Center, and Lyons Fire Department office are closed to the public at this time. As always, if you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911. Utility payments, as well as most financial transactions, can also be made online via our website (www.lyonsga.org) as well as by using our drop box located behind City Hall.
The Mayor also urges all citizens to follow the Governor's most recent order.
