March 16-- Mr. Spencer Newton “Junior” Beasley, age 89, formerly of Soperton and presently of East Dublin passed away on Friday morning, March 13, 2020 at the Scott Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scott, Georgia.

Born in Emanuel County, he was the eldest of eight children born to the late Spencer Newton Beasley Sr. and Mary Etta McNeely Beasley. The son of a sharecropper, Mr. Beasley grew up in Emanuel County until moving to Treutlen County in the early 1950s. He met and married Treutlen County native Marie Hutcheson and in 1953 they had a son, Newton. Mr. Beasley worked for over 40 years as a Painter; both in the residential and commercial sector.

He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing and hunting; and was especially known for his quail hunting successes.

He was raised in the Pentecostal and Holiness church and was presently a member of Pleasant Springs Church in East Dublin.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives, Marie Hutcheson Beasley, who passed away in 1977, Reba Faye Parker Beasley, who passed away in 2000, a sister, Mamie Clyde Beasley, who passed away in 1957and an infant son.

He leaves behind his wife of eighteen years, Shirley Wright Beasley, East Dublin, GA, his son, Newton Beasley (Connie), Hampton, GA, Shirley’s children, Kevin Beacham (Janet), East Dublin, GA, Malehia Young (Carnage), Minter, GA, four sisters, Elizabeth Smith, Statesboro, GA, Clara Frances Sineath (Stanley), Panama City, FL, Bonnie Sue Noble, Statesboro, GA, Louise Giles, AL, two brothers, William E. “Billy” Beasley (Patsy), Soperton, GA, Roy Lester Beasley (Ruth), Mt. Vernon, GA, grandchildren, William Beasley (Melissa), Cleveland, TN, Casey Marie Nix (Michael), Concord, GA, great grandchildren, Travis Beasley (Calen), Ashley Newman (Austin), Tanner Beasley, Hayli Nix, Kristyn Nix, step grandchildren, Casey Green (Timothy), Amy Kinchen (Chad), Kala Kozdron (Zach), Kyle Young (Chelsea), great great grandchildren, Harlynn and Hensley Beasley, Benjamin Newman, step great grandchildren, Colby Kinchen, Holton Kinchen, Dylan Green, Hannah Green and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with his grandson, Pastor William Beasley and Reverend Ben Edwards officiating.

Mr. Beasley will be laid to rest in the Hutcheson Cemetery in Treutlen County.

His family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home.
