Feb. 25-- Mrs. Lucy Geneal Thigpen McDaniel of Soperton died Sunday afternoon in Treutlen Health & Rehab in Soperton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Beasley Cemetery in Treutlen County. Reverend Paul Beasley will officiate.

Mrs. McDaniel, 83, was the daughter of the late Sam & Julia Horton Thigpen. She was born in Dublin and was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, W.I. Beasley & Rayford McDaniel; two daughters, Liddie Moye & Bonnie Sue Beasley; granddaughter, Suzanne Cribbs; sister, Laura Davis and three brothers, S.T., Jerry & Paul Thigpen.

Survivors include two sons, Ray (Tina) McDaniel and Jerry Beasley, all of Soperton; daughter, Judy (Mike) Beasley of Glenwood; sister, Alda “Cootsie” (Harold) Edge of Vidalia; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Allen Beasley, Gage Beasley, Gerrett Beasley, Logan Beasley, Alex McDaniel and Cody McDaniel.

Visitation will begin at 1 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
