Feb. 24-- Mr. Judson “Judd” Drew Rogers, age 25 of Soperton, passed away on Saturday morning, February 22, 2020.
Born in Dublin, Georgia on Monday, October 3, 1994, he is the son of Jeff Rogers and Jeana McDaniel. Judd grew up in Soperton and was a 2013 graduate of Treutlen County High School where he played for four years as an offensive lineman on the football team and an outfielder on the baseball team. After high school he attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Disciplinary Studies. Judd had worked with Farmers Furniture since the age of 16 and most recently had worked with LJR of Nunez, Georgia. He had been a resident of Metter since 2017. Judd enjoyed anytime spent with his family, playing his guitar, deep and inquisitive conversations and trips to the dog park with his German Shepherd.
Judd attended Fellowship Holiness Church.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, David Collins and his maternal grandfather, Gary Brooks.
He leaves behind, his parents: Jeff and Janet Rogers, Jeana and Jason Brooks, all of Soperton, paternal grandparents, Mindell and Dottie Rogers, Adrian, GA, paternal grandmother, Carolyn Collins, maternal grandparents, Doug and Ann McDaniel, Soperton, GA, Kenny Bryan and Johnnie Brooks, Soperton, GA, siblings, Jakob “Jake” Brooks, Yasmine Brooks, Jeremy Rogers (Nichole), Jeffery Rogers (Ciera), Emily Sammons (Benji), all of Soperton, nieces and nephews, Jayden Rogers, Jaylei Rogers, Journey Rogers, Jagger Braswell, Jhett Rogers, River Rogers, Paisley Sammons and his German Shepherd companion, YETI.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Blackville Church of God with Reverend Brad McVea and Reverend Kenny Edge officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Clay Figureoa, Jody Smith, Austin Daughtry, Colby Myers, Holt Barwick, Derrick Thompson and Brad Sumner.
Honorary pallbearers will be: C. J. McDonald, Payton Brooks, Tyson Brooks, Rak Donaldson, Jarret Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Brent McCoy, Adam Bowen and Aaron Bowen.
His family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, at Sammons Funeral Home or friends may call at the home of Doug and Ann McDaniel.
