February 22—The RTCA Crusaders defeated the Brentwood Academy War Eagles 79-67 at Stratford Academy in Macon in the Second Round of the GISA AA State Basketball Playoffs. The Crusaders led 21-17 after the first quarter, 44-36 at halftime and 63-54 at the end of the third.

Justin Walker led the way in scoring with 39 points including eleven 3-point baskets. MK McBride and Jayshaun Powell both had 14 points.

The Crusaders move on to the Final Four at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus next Thursday at 3:00pm against Furtah Prep Falcons. You can hear the game on News Talk WVOP-AM 970 and 105.3 FM and southeastgeorgiatoday.com.

Coach Adam Callaway said, “Really proud of this team, they have worked hard all season long and we have reached two of our goals by winning region and making it to the Final 4. We are trying to make all 3 goals by winning the state championship. Justin Walker shot the ball extremely well tonight, we have to do a lot better job on the defensive end of the court, but we are still playing basketball in late February and that's all you hope for as a coach.”
