The allegations against the owners of a mobile home dealership who reside in Appling County have now garnered the attention of state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Last Thursday the Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported a search warrant had been executed at the Yurezz Home Center in Baxley in connection with a fraud investigation that spans several states. In addition to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office, other local law enforcement agencies, and the GBI, the FBI Savannah Resident Agency is now assisting with the investigation.

The GBI said that due to the complexity of the fraud investigation, the state agency is working to centralize the flow of information from potential victims, and urges anyone affected by the alleged fraudulent actions of Yurezz Home Center owners Richard and Heather Altman to report those issues to the GBI using one of three methods. You can use the See Something Send Something mobile app, call 1-800-597-TIPS and select Option 2, or contact the bureau online at https://gbi.georgia.gov/submit-tips-online.

The GBI said no matter how you notify the agency, you should include your name and contact information and describe briefly how you have been affected by Yurezz Home Center and its owners.

Richard Altman was arrested by the Appling County Sheriff’s Office on July 8 on a warrant originated from Livingston Parrish, LA for illegal transmission of monetary funds.
