The Georgia Main Street Program has announced that the Vidalia Downtown Development Authority has been awarded $250,000 through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Downtown Development Revolving Loan Fund for a renovation project at 110 East First Street. The funds will help in transforming the space into new ground-floor storefronts with loft-style apartments above.

Officials with the Georgia Main Street say this reflects the value of public-private partnerships in bringing new life, business activity, and housing opportunities to the district.
