
As of Wednesday morning, the Evans County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who escaped deputies’ custody while being transported to jail.
According to the law enforcement agencies, Tuesday evening the Claxton Police Department and the Evans County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division arrested Dayquan Islar, age 28, for recent entering auto thefts. During his trip to the jail, an altercation took place and Islar escaped custody in the area of James and Grady Streets in Claxton.
Islar was last seen wearing black pants and a black shirt.
