The Toombs County Sheriff’s Department received a call for a wreck involving a pedestrian and a white semi-truck near the intersection of US Highway 1 and CH Slaton Road in Toombs County at 1:42 pm Friday.

Upon arrival, deputies found William Michael Hadlock, age 44, of Jesup in the roadway with traumatic injuries.  The victim succumbed to the injuries at the scene. 

Also, at the scene was 34 year-old Roberto Cabecera of North Carolina, the driver of the semi-truck.  Cabecera was not injured.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.  More info on the accident will be reported as it is made available.
