SEVERE WEATHER - HEAT/FLOODING
More than 100 million Americans were under heat alerts across 27 states from coast to coast this weekend. Washington DC broke 100 degrees. The heat dome is expanding, but temps in the Northeast may be cooled by potential severe thunderstorms. Excessive heat warnings will be up for parts of Southern California on Monday; temps in Palm Springs could reach up to 112 through Thursday. The same area that is flooding from historic rainfall in South Dakota and Iowa has been under a heat advisory, with a heat index up to 105 forecast for Monday. Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a flooding disaster declaration for more than 20 counties, mainly in the northwest part of the state. Rivers are cresting above 1993's record levels, and the forecast calls for more rain later this week. Reynolds estimates around 19-hundred properties are impacted and hundreds are destroyed. "This isn't gonna end in a month. This is gonna take several several months to get people back to normal."

ABORTION
Monday marks two years since the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the constitutional right to an abortion and allowing states to decide whether to restrict access to the procedure or not. As of last Friday, 14 states have ceased nearly all abortion services and three states have enacted six-week bans, according to an ABC News tally. Marches and rallies advocating for reproductive freedom are planned for Monday around the country, including outside the US Supreme Court.

VOTE 2024
They're not yet officially their parties' nominees, but President Biden and former President Trump face off Thursday night in the first presidential debate of 2024 - the earliest faceoff since broadcast presidential debates began. The debate is also unique in that it was not organized by the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates. His campaign says President Biden has been holding mock debates at Camp David with more than a dozen aides. Trump is said to have been holding policy meetings with his potential vice-presidential picks and former administration officials.

AR MASS SHOOTING
We're learning more about the victims of Friday's mass shooting outside a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas - what state police call a "completely random, senseless act." Police on Sunday announced a fourth victim died Saturday night: 81-year-old Ellen Shrum. One of those killed is being called a hero: 23-year-old Callie Weems, a nurse who leaves behind a 10-month-old daughter. State Police Colonel Mike Hagar says "She was shot while rendering aid to another gunshot victim. Instead of fleeing the store, she stopped to render aid."
