January 11—The Vidalia Indian basketball teams traveled to Metter Friday night and swept the Tigers in Region 2AA play. The Indians took the boys game 55-45 and the Lady Indians downed the Lady Tigers 60-45.

In the Boys game Vidalia ran out to a 5-0 start but Metter responded with 7 straight points to lead 7-5. It would be the last lead of the night for Metter as Xavier McLendon scored16 points in the first half en route to a 20 point night.

The Indians go to 13-5 and 5-3 in the region.

The Lady Indians led 18-9 at the end of the first period, 34-23 at halftime and held on to the lead in the second half to get the region win. Dresden Clark scored 24 points.

The 9th ranked Lady Indians improve to 14-3 overall, 8-1 in the region and remain tied in first place with Bryan County.

Vidalia heads to Alma Tuesday to face Bacon County at 6PM. You can hear the games on 98Q and southeastgeorgiatoday.
