May 15-- Robert Toombs Christian Academy wrestler Adam Edwards signed his letter of intent to move on to Brewton-Parker College. Edwards was the State Champion at 145 lbs. For RTCA this year and finished his season with a record of 28-2. Edwards also played football and was on the track & field team for the Crusaders.

Edwards said, “I am really excited about it and really looking forward to going. Shout-out to J.D. Rogers, Coach Smith and my parents who have supported me through it all. I like that it is close to home and also that it is a Christian oriented school. They had three All-Americans at BPC this year and I hope to be a part of that.”

Coach Thomas Smith stated, “Adam had a great year this year.. He was getting recruited both for football and for wrestling but he decided that he wanted to go and wrestle. I am excited for him to have this opportunity. He had a great year for us, was a State Champion and I know that he is going to work hard and do good things at Brewton-Parker.”

His mother Amanda added, “We are proud of him and thankful for the opportunities that Robert Toombs has given him. We are proud that he will be able to follow his Christian faith and get to go to Brewton-Parker. We are excited for him and know he will do well.”

BPC Coach Tim Mitchem said, “He is a tough kid. I like what he has to offer and after we started watching him we knew he would be a good fit with us. It is a bonus that he brings that State Championship with him, so we know he will put in the effort and be what we want as a Baron.” 5 10 19 Adam Edwards
