April 12-- Former Vidalia High School quarterback and the Citadel's Jordan Black was  selected to the 2019 National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Football Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced Wednesday.
 
jordanblackThe Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. An all-time high of 1,643 players from a record 424 schools qualified for membership in the Society's 13th year.
 
Black maintains a 3.2 grade-point average as a criminal justice major. Upon graduating in May, Black will commission as an officer in the United States Air Force.
 
On the field, Black started seven games at quarterback. He ranked third on the team in rushing with 531 yards, while leading the team with 10 rushing touchdowns. He also threw for 753 yards and three touchdowns.
