4 10 19 BPC Softball ParkMount Vernon, GA. – On Saturday, April 13, 2019, the Brewton-Parker College softball team will stand side by side with those struggling with Parkinson’s disease in an effort to raise awareness of those affected by it personally or through their families. Brewton-Parker Softball will be wearing special uniforms this weekend, as well as selling shirts that will don the “BP” monogram logo and the “PD” rose. All the proceeds from the selling of the shirts will go to the Micheal J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

“The Michael J. Fox Foundation was launched in 2000 and directs funds to promising research opportunities worldwide. The Foundation strives to make every dollar count as it seeks a cure for Parkinson's disease. With growing resources, the Foundation's focus is increasingly on the clinical and translational research crucial to making strides toward a cure and improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's disease in 1991. Armed with the knowledge that with proper funding, a cure for Parkinson's disease was within reach, Fox publicly disclosed his condition in 1998 and committed himself to the campaign for increased Parkinson's awareness and research funding.” – From

Coach Herrin on choosing this philanthropy, “We chose to support this philanthropy, as it has affected my family and friends' lives. We want to show our support, as a program, and let those affected know they are not alone. We also wanted to be able to give our players a look into the life of others, and how to be a functioning body of Christ in showing love to those who need it.”

The Brewton-Parker College softball team will be taking on Faulkner University at 1 & 3 PM EDT.   The T-Shirts will be for sale at the game for $18.
