On March 9th the Vidalia Heritage Academy Middle and High School Archery teams closed out their seasons competing in the GICAA state championship held at the Georgia Southern University Shooting Sports Education Center.

The middle school team finished third place in the state with several archers placing individually among the top 5 in their division. Rylee Toole placed second among middle school girls with a score of 281. Josey Harrell placed third with 280, and Julia Beacham placed fifth with a score of 275.

Unfortunately, Heritage’s high school team did not place in the top five but had two individual archers place in the top of their division. Mikela O’Neal placed fourth among high school girls with a score of 284. Elliott Sammons also scored a 284 which placed him third among high school boys.

The Heritage Eagles are proud of the archery teams who continue to compete well in a sport that continues to grow in the number of participants and the level of competition each year.
