Winona Lake, In--The Lady Barons trailed by 15 points 31-46 heading into halftime at the first round of the NCCAA Championship against Judson University. By the end of the third, they cut the lead down to 12: 48-60. BPC was then able to go on a run at the start of the fourth quarter, with Judson only scoring 4 points in the first 5 minutes. A three pointer by Ni-Dericka Rainey cut the lead within 2: 62-64 with 5 minutes left of play. A jumper by Joy Hadley with 45 seconds left tied the game at 72-72. A couple of missed shots by Judson and a foul which sent Dominique Haynes to the line gave BPC a chance to take the lead. She made both clutch free throws and a crucial defensive block and rebound by Naomi Wilds with 12 seconds left gave BPC the momentum they needed to seal the deal and come away with a victory. The final score was 75-72. 

Dominique Haynes led the team with 22 points. Next was Joy Hadley with 12 points, a team high 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. BPC shot 38% from the field and 32% from three. 

"I'm proud of the way we battled through adversity today," reflects Coach Steve Edwards. "We didn't play well but we found a way to win. We received a big boost from our second unit and they are the reason we were able to get back in the game. Dominique was consistent for us tonight and we had a few players make big plays down the stretch. I'm proud of my team. We will watch film and get ready for tomorrow."
