January 18—Congratulations to Nyshun Bell of the Vidalia Indians and Da’Quan Jackson of the Montgomery County Eagles on being named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s All-State Football Team. Both were selected 1st Team, Bell for Class AA and Jackson for Class A Public. 1 21 19 Bell

Bell (Left) had an outstanding year on offense and defense for the Indians and got his All-State recognition for his play as linebacker on defense. He had 82 tackles for the season and 1 interception. On offense Bell carried the ball for 890 yards and 88 yards receiving. Bell was also named as the Region 2AA Player of the Year.

Jackson (Below) helped lead the Eagles to the second round of the state playoffs for the first time in thirty years. He was named to the 1st Team All-State Team as a defensive back. Jackson had 32 tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries and 6 forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball.1 21 19 Jackson

On offense Jackson had 1,216 yards rushing and 18 catches for 300 yards and also threw for 101 yards. Jackson had a total of 21 rushing touchdowns, 1 receiving and 5 others on special teams and defense for a total of 162 points and 27 touchdowns for the season.
