November 3—The Montgomery County Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 7-3 after a region crossover 15-14 win over the Claxton Tigers Friday night at home.

The Eagles fell behind 14-0 and got on the board late in the first period on a rushing touchdown. The PAT was no good to cut the Tigers lead to 14-6.

Montgomery County scored again just before the half on a 43-yard Field Goal by Chrystian Garcia to make the score 14-9 Claxton at the half.

The Eagles took the lead in the third quarter on a Da’Quan Jackson touchdown run. The two-point conversion failed for a 15-14 score.

Claxton was driving the ball down the field late in the fourth quarter when Darique Williams intercepted a pass for the Eagles. Montgomery County ran out the clock to get the 15-14 win.

Montgomery County moves on to the playoffs in Class A next Friday night with an opponent and location to be determined.
