October 26--  The Vidalia Lady Indians were eliminated from the state softball tournament Friday night in Columbus.

Playing in an elimination game in the loser's bracket, the Lady Indians lost to their region rival, the Lady Yellow Jackets of Jeff  Davis High School, by one run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Vidalia led the entire game until the Lady Yellow Jackets loaded the bases in the final inning and scored three runs on a bloop fly ball to the outfield.  Final score, Jeff Davis 6, Vidalia 5.

Indian head coach Brad Thompson said, "You know, this is where you want to be.  We've got a lot of young girls on this roster and they see the intensity that goes on out here.  It's up to them to work hard in the off season and get back here and see what we can do next year."
