Carolin KeenPicNovember 18--Mrs. Carolyn Henry Keene, age 78, beloved wife of Ronald Keene passed away at their Eatonton home on Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2019.
Born in Soperton, she was the last living of two daughters born to the late Felton Mallie and Alma Ruth Brantley.  As an infant her family moved to Jacksonville where she grew up in the Panama Park section of town and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, Class of 1959.  In 1962 she married Soperton native, Ronald E. Keene; whom she had known since childhood. The newlyweds made their first home in Jacksonville.   Carolyn worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years with Prudential Life Insurance Company in Jacksonville and later in Riverdale, Georgia before retiring as Assistant Office Manager.   Her husband retired in 2001 and they moved to Eatonton.  
Carolyn enjoyed digging in the yard, planting flowers, crocheting, sewing and cooking.  She loved music and possessed an extensive collection.
She had been a member of North Main Street Baptist Church in Jacksonville and was currently a member at Lake County Baptist Church near Lake Sinclair.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Judy Henry Carson, maternal grandparents, George L. Brantley and Rosa Claxton Brantley and paternal grandparents, Mallie Henry and Mamie Simons Henry.
Carolyn leaves behind: her husband of 57 years, Ronald E. Keene, Eatonton, GA, their daughter, Melissa Jackson (Tony), McDonough, GA, two granddaughters, Misty Hester (Shane), Stockbridge, GA, Jordan Jackson, McDonough, GA, three great grandchildren, Emerson Thor, Mason Hester and Isaiah Hester.  
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Pete Mattix officiating.
Immediately following the service her family will receive friends at a reception to be held in the fellowship hall of Soperton First Baptist Church.
Carolyn will be laid to rest, privately, beside her mother in the family section of Westview Cemetery.
