Mr. Wayne Ennis, age 70, beloved husband of Gloria Jean Smith White Ennis passed away at their home in the Cedar Grove Community of Dublin on Thursday morning. February 28, 2019.

Born in Soperton he was the son of the late Shellie Lee Ennis and Lelia Mae Hayslip Ennis. He attended school in Treutlen County and lived most of his life in Treutlen and Toombs County. Mr. Ennis was a second generation Logger; following in his father’s footsteps and earning the name of “Chopper” early on in his 52 year career. He had worked for Carey Logging in Vidalia for many years.  

Mr. Ennis was as Evangelist for and member at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Cedar Grove, had pastored the Old Time Gospel House of Prayer in Vidalia and was the voice of the “Lord’s Messenger” on local radio Broadcasts.

He leaves behind, his wife, Gloria Jean Ennis Cedar Grove, GA, his siblings, Douglas M. Ennis, Lyons, GA, Reba Spell, Winter Haven, FL, Michael Ennis, Soperton, GA, Marland Phillips, Dublin, GA, a SON, Phillip White, Cedar Grove, GA, a daughter, Betty White, Cedar Grove, GA, daughter and son in law, Jada and Scott Davidson, Cedar Grove, GA, grandchildren, Joseph White, Sela Davidson, Jada Kay Davidson, Makayla Davidson, Thomas Davidson, Haven Davidson, Ethan White and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday (TODAY), March 2, 2019 in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastors Scott Davidson and Randall Rhymes officiating.

Mr. Ennis will be laid to rest in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph White, Ethan White, Thomas Davidson, Billy Gay, Carey Locke and Ricky Williams.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.
