Feb.11-- Mr. William Preston White, 94, of Alamo, passed away Saturday, February 09, 2019.  His family will be receiving friends at Towns Funeral Home Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 6 PM until 8 PM.  Services for Mr. White will be held 11 AM Monday, February 11, 2019 at Alamo United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Brownley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Alamo City Cemetery.  

He was born April 6, 1924 in Wheeler County to the late James Harris and Sadie Adams White.
Mr. White was a retired farmer and livestock producer.  For many years he was a renowned purebred swine and cattle farmer.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, planting, and, most especially, spending time with his family and his dog Chip.   

Mr. White is survived by his wife of 70 years: Caroline McDaniel White of Alamo; two daughters: Peggy (James) Underwood and Diane (Leonard) Banks of Adel; four grandchildren: Tanner (Caroline) Underwood of Dublin, Nicholas (Becca) Banks of Woodstock, Blake Underwood of Athens, and Lindsay (Brett) Harris of Adel; six great-grandchildren: Jake and Ty Underwood, Libby Banks, Callie Underwood, and Jillian and Max Harris; one brother: Harry White, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents: James Harris and Sadie Adams White; three brothers: Julian White, Eschol White, and Truitt White; and one sister: Mildred Mimbs.  

Towns Funeral Home of Alamo is in charge of arrangement.
