August 8--  Meadows Regional Medical Center recently received a $100,000 donation from Ameris Bank.

The donation is a portion of Ameris Bank’s $800,000 financial support to seven rural Georgia hospitals that qualify for the Georgia HEART Hospital Program.

The program offers a rare state income tax credit to Georgia taxpayers that contribute to support the growing needs of rural and critical access hospitals throughout the state.

“We are truly grateful for this generous donation from Ameris Bank,” said Alan Kent, Meadows Regional Medical Center President & CEO. “This donation will help us as we are planning, budgeting, and help us achieve our strategy and mission in the community. These funds are a direct investment to the bottom line of our local healthcare systems, and in some communities is the difference in some hospitals staying open or closing.”

Along with Meadows Regional Medical Center receiving support from the bank are Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla, Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, and Appling Healthcare in Baxley.
