June 25--  Early in-person voting for Georgia's July 24th runoff election starts Monday, July 2 and ends Friday, July 20.

There are four statewide runoff elections including Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State and State School Superintendent.


Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp are running for the Republican nomination.  Cagle got 39% and Kemp received 26% of the vote in the primary. The winner will face former metro Atlanta Democrat State Representative Stacey Abrams in November.

Lieutenant Governor

Republicans  David Shafer (48.9% in the primary) and Geoff Duncan (26.6% in the primary) are in the Republican run-off to face Democrat Sarah Riggs Amico in November. 

Secretary of State

Republicans Brad Raffensperger (34.9%) and David Belle Isle (28.5%) face off  to challenge former Democrat Congressman John Barrow in the general election.  Barrow got 51.5% of the vote in a three-way race in the Democrat primary.

State School Superintendent

There's a Democrat Party run-off between Otha Thornton, Jr. (43.8% in the primary) and Sid Chapman (36.4%).  The winner will face incumbent Republican Superintendent Richard Woods who got 60% of the Republican Primary vote against former Superintendent John Barge.


The only run-off in the immediate area is the race for Montgomery County Magistrate Judge.  Ashley Thornton garnered 49.4% of the vote in the primary and faces John Morrison who pulled 26.9% of the primary vote.
