June 8--  Vidalia police are on the lookout for two men wanted in connection with a theft late Thursday afternoon at K.E. Butler Jewelers in the Palmer Place shopping center on East First Street.

According to the police report, two black males entered the store and looked at merchandise.  A short while later one of the two came back and asked to see a tennis bracelet and a diamond ring. Once he was handed the items, he ran from the store to a waiting car at a nearby gas station.

Salesman Mark Butler said the man who fled was wearing a white bucket style hat, white shirt, black shorts and white tennis shoes.  He told police the other man was wearing a red and black baseball cap with a red "A," a gray Jordan T-Shirt, black sweat pants and gray sneakers.  Butler said the thief entered a silver or gray car that may have been a Hyundai.

Total value of the items stolen is $10,169.00.
